HOLDAY ON THE HORIZON?
HERE ARE SOME SUITCASE PACKING TIPS
Have you ever experienced last-minute packing? Of course, you have! We are very busy people who ‘multi-task’ in a fast-paced and demanding society, and thus we are very good at prioritising and at putting off those tasks which don’t need immediate action.
That’s our lifestyle and we have to deal with it.
For example, when we leave for a holiday, we usually have to work long hours the week before - just to avoid being snowed under with a backlog of work when we come back. So, we procrastinate packing until Friday afternoon – or worse, Friday evening - and then we are seized with panic and start a mad rush to grab all the stuff we might need on our holiday. At the end of this hectic and messy operation you will have to face one of the following scenarios: either an overpacked suitcase which won’t close - no matter how long you sit on it - or a light travel bag, but once at your destination you realize you left a few vital items at home.
Don’t sweat it! I’ll share with you a few useful tips to pack a suitcase quickly and effectively.
First of all, print one of the following Travel Checklists depending on the holiday you’ve planned.

Secondly, do some climate research and check the weather forecast for the coming week(s). This will help you to pick out the most suitable garments.
Next, take all the items you need and put them on your bed - believe it or not, it’s much easier to mix and match your clothes, and make as many outfits as you can if you see them all together. Remember to tick off each item on the list once you have got it out of the wardrobe. This is a simple strategy which will help you feel less overwhelmed.
While doing this, picture yourself going through a typical day and doing all the activites planned. In this way, you’ll pack just the things you need - nothing more, nothing less. An evening gown may be good for a night out in a vibrant sea resort, but it will be inappropriate if you’re staying in a cosy remote hut in the mountains.
Thirdly, open your suitcase and put heavy gear on the bottom and light clothes which tend to wrinkle easily on top.
And last but not least, remember to take some money, credit and debit cards and your documents!
Now, all you have to do is close your suitcase and leave.
Have a nice trip!
